Care and Propagation Information
General Care for Sempervivum ‘Sirius'
Sempervivum ‘Sirius' is a great addition to rock gardens or cold-hardy succulent gardens. As it grows, it produces offsets, spreading out. ‘Sirius' is resiliant to many pests.
Watering
Sempervivum ‘Sirius' has typical watering needs for a succulent. It's best to use the “soak and dry” method, and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
Where to Plant
‘Sirius' is cold hardy, and is able to withstand very cold winter temperatures. It does well in full to partial sun. Plant in an area of your garden that gets 6 hours of sunlight a day. It does not thrive indoors.
How to Propagate Sempervivum ‘Sirius'
Sempervivum ‘Sirius’ is perfect for outdoor succulent growers, and is very cold hardy. It propagates from offsets (chicks).
Offsets
‘Sirius’ will produce small rosette offsets. Cut the offsets off from the main stem with a sharp, sterile knife or scissors. Allow the offsets to dry for one to two days before laying on well-draining soil.
