Care and Propagation Information

General Care for Sedum pallidum var. bithynicum

Sedum pallidum var. bithynicum will spread out as it grows, forming a clumping mat. It also grows well in container gardens, and as it grows it trails down over the pot. Although it is a matting succulent, it is not sturdy enough to walk on.

Watering

Sedum pallidum var. bithynicum has typical watering needs for a succulent. It's best to use the “soak and dry” method, and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

Be careful not to over-water, as this can lead to root rot.

Where to Plant

This Sedum is cold hardy and can withstand temperatures as low as -20°F (-28.9°C). Grow in an area that receives plenty of full sun.

How to Propagate Sedum pallidum var. bithynicum

Sedum pallidum var. bithynicum can be propagated from cuttings; plant will not grow true to seed.

Cuttings

To grow this tender Sedum from cuttings, use a sterile, sharp knife or pair of scissors. Remove a stem from the main plant, and allow it to callous for several days before placing on well-draining soil. Water whenever the soil has dried out completely.
